The Role

HHC is seeking a passionate leader to join their team as the Education Assistant - Special Needs (SNEA) – Lead.

The role of the SNEA - Lead is to work closely with the Student Service Team and Inclusion Team to lead, mentor, coach and model good practices for other Education Assistants. The successful applicant will plan and deliver the worksite induction and training of other Education Assistants. In consultation with teachers, parents/caregivers and School Psychologists, or other relevant professionals, the SNEA - Lead will be expected to contribute to the design and implementation of documented plans and to provide solutions and support to teachers, which promote positive student behaviour and improved educational outcomes in the classroom. Our SNEA will work consultatively with Manager Corporate Services and our Inclusion Manager to align timetabled support and coordinate relief to ensure student needs are met and support aligns.

Ideally, the successful applicant will bring a solutions-focused and student-centred approach to all tasks, enabling the delivery of high-quality learning programs and improved educational outcomes in the classroom. It is highly desirable for the successful applicant to have experience in working with and responding to the needs of students with a range of learning needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and severe mental health.
