This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025.

Duncraig Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a Program Coordinator – Student Services Manager Years 9 to 10. The role will be focused on Year 9 to 10 initially; however, the successful applicant should be flexible as portfolios within the team may be rotated over time.

Duncraig SHS is situated in the north-western suburbs on the coastal strip 18 kilometres from Perth. We cater for students from Year 7 to Year 12 and are a school of high standards where the care and progress of every child is our first priority. We continue to improve our resources and facilities through the support of our Board, our parent body, and the Education Department.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative leader who has outstanding interpersonal, organisational and communication skills with a displayed ability to create and maintain strong working relationships and seamlessly integrate within a well-established and experienced team.

As Student Services Manager, the successful applicant will work in close collaboration with the Associate Principal in the leadership and management of the Year 9 & 10 student cohorts. You will work to achieve the vision of effectively preparing students for successful pathways and focus on the improvement and support of academic and pastoral outcomes for all students.

The successful applicant will work closely and in collaboration with other Student Services Managers and Associate Principals to ensure that the school’s motto of Care, Engage and Excel are evident in approaches, systems and processes. This may include areas such as whole school behaviour, student leadership, student wellbeing, attendance, pastoral care, and academic achievement and as such, the ability to identify, interrogate and visualise data and utilise skills to successfully work within a high performing team is highly desirable. 

The successful applicant will ideally have knowledge of the range of internal and external support structures and services that help to improve student outcomes and it is considered essential that applicants possess the ability to communicate with staff, students and parents effectively.

Skills in de-escalation and conflict management would be well regarded.

Student Services Managers at the school have line management responsibility within a multi-disciplined support team, and successful applicants should be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively lead a team and build and enhance the capacity of the Student Services area.
