Esperance Residential College are seeking to establish a pool of Boarding Supervisor for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2025 and up to the end of December 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Beauty abounds Esperance, with amazing beaches, rugged coastline and forests, and a friendly seaside community with numerous amenities. Boarding at Esperance Residential College provides students with access to a quality education. We cater for all students enrolled in a secondary school, including: Esperance Senior High School and Esperance Anglican Community School.

The Role

Suitable applicants will supervise students, providing appropriate care to support their wellbeing and fulfill duty of care responsibilities in line with relevant legislation and Department requirements. This role will require applicants to promptly report concerns with student and staff wellbeing, duty of care, occupational safety and health and maintenance matters to senior staff. They will respect and embrace diversity within the student population, and provide and supervise opportunities which support the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of students.

Boarding Supervisors will be responsible for maintaining regular communication with colleagues, parents, school staff and others involved in supporting student development and wellbeing, It will be their responsibility to distribute medicines to students according to parent and/or health professional instructions and in line with Department policies, procedures and guidelines.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must: 

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit. 
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check if required
  • Work according to rostered hours which may include nights, weekends and public holidays;
  • Obtain (prior to first rostered shift working with students) and maintain a current:
    • First Aid Certificate – Provide CPR (HLTAID009); and
    • First Aid Certificate – Provide First Aid (HLTAID011);
  • Within six months of commencement of employment obtain and maintain a current:
    • LR Class Driver’s Licence and a Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) authorisation;
    • Aquatic Rescue for Group III Pool Award*; and
  • obtain a Certificate IV in Community Services – Student Residential Care (CHC42021) within six months of commencement of employment.

* Dependent on operational requirements as determined by College Manager.
