Jurien Bay District High School (DHS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Health and Physical Education Teacher.

Working at Jurien Bay DHS provides the opportunity to live on the pristine Turquoise Coast, with access to beautiful beaches and camping grounds all within a short drive of your doorstep. The Jurien Bay DHS community and wider town is a very welcoming environment and a great place to enjoy both work and leisure time.

The school caters for students from Jurien Bay, Leeman, Green Head and Cervantes and the surrounding farming districts. The school provides an educational service for a range of students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

With the school’s motto being ‘Together in Learning’ there is a focus on strong community relationships. The development of relationships with staff and students is a priority with mutual respect and high behavioural expectations key components in these relationships.

The school enjoys the strong support of the Parents and Citizens Association and a motivated School Board.

The successful applicant will ideally be able to work as part of a team, focussed on developing engaging and relevant learning experiences and building positive relationships with colleagues and learners. With effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with our school community to instil our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Commitment.

To be successful in this role, the Physical and Health Education teacher will ideally have the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to teach across all year levels of our District High School.

Mobility appointments for permanent, metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position.  At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
