Katanning Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher Primary for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Katanning PS is in the Great Southern town of Katanning and is a member of the Great Southern Schools Network. Like the wider community, our school celebrates its diversity: over 40% of our students are Aboriginal and 20% of our students speak a language other than English at home. We value all that this contributes to our development of confident, socially responsible, successful students with broad perspectives, developing cultural understandings, and an increasingly knowledgeable world view.

The Role
We invite suitable applicants to become a member of our dynamic and distinctive school community. As a primary teacher in our team, suitable applicants will join in our shared responsibility for the wellbeing and success of all. Suitable applicants will ideally use your positive classroom management; excellent, responsive, planning of challenging and engaging programs; and effective repertoire of teaching skills to achieve robust academic, social and wellbeing outcomes for students. You will have an excellent understanding of the WA Curriculum, strong skills in literacy and numeracy, and be earnestly developing your cultural responsiveness.
Suitable applicants will ideally be purposeful and deliberate in striving to create learning conditions that maximise opportunities for every student to achieve and progress. Actively supporting the implementation and ongoing review of whole of school approaches that have explicit teaching, sound data analysis, and success for all at their core would be highly regarded. Well-developed interpersonal skills will be utilised to work collaboratively with colleagues within the school and network to improve your own practice, and to support others to do the same. Our team knows strong partnerships are essential to maximise the success of our students, and you will build respectful, productive relationships with our students, their families, and partnering agencies, corporations, and community groups.
At Katanning PS, we endeavour to develop leadership at all levels. We seek teachers who thrive when working in a strong, professional, and supportive team and who will contribute to the maintenance of our positive and caring school culture that is founded on high levels of relational trust. Suitable applicants will ideally be flexible, passionate, have a growth mindset, and be dedicated to getting the best out of themselves and every student.
