This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025.

Piara Waters Senior High School (SHS) is situated in the beautifully landscaped suburb of Piara Waters, approximately 25kms south of Perth. The school is surrounded by luscious greenery and will form part of the vibrant, multicultural community of Piara Waters. The school commenced with Year 7 students in 2023, adding each year to its growing cohort, until it reaches Year 12 in 2028.

The Role

The successful applicant will deliver curriculum which should result in high levels of student engagement, progress, and achievement. We are looking for an applicant who ideally models evidence based planning and instructional practice to support the learning needs of all students. They should be motivated to work within a team environment and support the development of a positive culture within a foundation learning area.  As a foundation school, the ability of staff to be flexible and adaptable in line with changing conditions is important. The ability to teach in other areas is highly desirable.

The successful applicant will ideally be committed to supporting the development of programs that are relevant, engaging and cater for the learning of all students. They should work collaboratively with all staff and the broader school community to create conditions where high expectations and high-quality teaching thrive. The successful applicant should support the development of positive social relationships and utilise the flexible learning spaces within our learning environment to personalise learning for students thereby creating an environment which fosters curiosity, enhances creativity, and engenders critical thinking.  Global Studies takes a holistic focus on humanities, social sciences, and languages.  Working in collaboration with the Global Studies team, the successful applicant should have a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum to deliver engaging and relevant units of work resulting in deep learning. Our instructional framework has a strong focus on the embedding of the global learning dispositions in teaching and learning programs.

The successful applicant should be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, reflective, and innovative.You should have a firm belief that all students can reach their potential to achieve their highest educational outcomes. Adopting inclusive practices, building positive relationships with students, staff and the community are important components of the role.
