We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Carnaby Rise Primary School (PS), located in Landsdale, opened in 2017 as an Independent Public School catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our school has state-of-the-art facilities and resources to cater for teaching and learning in the 21st century.

The Role
Suitable applicants will assist teaching staff in the delivery of planned education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with teachers to deliver planned education programs, along with direction from the teachers, you will use your knowledge and initiative to make adaptations to lessons to suit the needs of individual students, including the use of computers and digital technologies. You may also be responsible for implementing individual student or small group programs or demonstrations. You may work closely with outside agencies and therapists – supporting the implementation of their programs and adapting the skills learnt in such sessions to the classroom environment. Additionally, you will provide feedback on education and therapy programs and will participate in the evaluation process. The ability to assist with the general health and wellbeing of students is desired.

- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
