Caversham Primary School (PS) is growing rapidly, with 56% of our students coming from a background of English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D). The Role
Suitable applicants should be dedicated teachers who possess a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. They will ideally be actively involved both within the school and wider community, highly reflective about their teaching practice and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation. A capacity and willingness to lead the development and delivery of school programs and priorities would be favourably viewed.
Teachers at Caversham PS adopt high impact teaching strategies to deliver a balanced curriculum and use ongoing formative assessment to provide feedback to students at the point of error, measure student progress, differentiate teaching and plan next steps in learning. A collaborative team approach will ensure individualised and targeted intervention and support to enable every child to reach their full potential and make year on year growth. Suitable applicants should possess the professional knowledge and practices to deliver an engaging and relevant curriculum using a positive, student-focused approach, and ideally have proven success working with students across a range of ability levels, including multi-age/split year groups.
Suitable applicants should support the continued development and implementation of our school’s culture, vision and improvement journey. They should implement our school-wide practices that meet the needs of our students and an environment that promotes success. These practices include, Peer Observation, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), Letters and Sounds, Words Their Way, Talk 4 Writing and High Impact Teaching Strategies. As a member of our school teaching team, you would implement effective, innovative and engaging learning programs. You should also work collaboratively with other staff to apply whole school approaches for delivery of the WA Curriculum.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to collaborate with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships, will be highly regarded.
