The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and organised applicant to join our team in the full-time role of Attendance Officer. The Attendance Officer works collaboratively with Student Services staff and school community to identify and monitor student absenteeism and process attendance data.They are the first point of contact for parents and students regarding attendance matters which will likely include the following:
- Responding to absence related enquiries
- Entering attendance related data in a timely manner to meet upload deadlines
- Reviewing and updating student attendance records
- Providing clerical support to develop and implement strategies which support student engagement.
- Providing support and assistance to students and parents regarding pastoral care
- Develop and implement a range of strategies at the school level to engage and support non-attending students
Previous experience using COMPASS, Student Information System (SIS) or similar databases for maintaining student records would be highly desirable.
The successful applicant should be customer service focused with strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. They will ideally be reliable, self-motivated, have strong problem solving skills and able to meet deadlines in a busy environment. In addition, they should possess the ability to work well within a team environment providing support to the administration team, support staff, school community and teaching staff.
