We are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher – Health and Physical Education for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. There is both permanent and fixed term positions available for the start of 2025.
Aveley Secondary College (SC) opened in 2018 and is a large secondary school catering for Year 7-12 in Perth’s Swan Valley. The Role
Suitable applicants would be highly effective in engaging and motivating students and creating an effective learning environment. The suitable applicant will ideally have the following attributes:
- Interpersonal skills and capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Capacity to build good relationships with all students
- Commitment to our signature pedagogy of Explicit Direct Instruction
- Capacity to plan curriculum including scope, sequencing, and lesson design collaboratively
- Knowledge of the Health and Physical Education curriculum
- Experience or expertise in sports science, soccer, netball is desirable. Having a current Cert IV and experience in delivering certificate courses would also be desirable.
- Strong teaching and classroom management skills, including classroom Management Strategies
- Data analysis skills and evidence-based planning to improve literacy and numeracy results for all students
- Confident use of ICT in the classroom
- Engage in reflective practice, informed by classroom observations, student feedback surveys and close examination of student performance data
