The Role
Lynwood Senior High School is seeking to appoint a flexible, collaborative and motivated School Psychologist to join our Student Services team.
Suitable applicants will be highly organised, with the ability to take initiative for improved student outcomes in a secondary school context. This will include working directly with the Heads of Student Services and the Deputy Principal overseeing Student Services, to put in place effective strategies and plans that support the mental health and wellbeing, along with the learning and motivation of our students. This will encompass Tier 1 insight in whole school evidence-based behaviour support and engagement strategies, facilitating Tier 2 small group intervention programs, and assistance in Tier 3 individual support planning and case management.
As a team player, the suitable applicants will be an active member of the school community who invests in building proactive relationships with teaching staff, students and their caregivers. The suitable applicant should have a good understanding of school systems, and effective school and classroom student engagement practises. They will be able to contribute psychological understanding and interventions to conditions that support student engagement and wellbeing.

- High level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts.
- Ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.
