Somerly Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Somerly PS provides a friendly, positive, and caring learning environment where students are encouraged to model our key values of respect, responsibility, and safety. These values are taught through our well-established Positive Behaviour School Process. We have dedicated and experienced staff who share a commitment to the school vision and values.
Our staff work as a dedicated team collaborating in professional learning communities that deliver learning programs consistent with well-defined whole school approaches to pedagogy. The staff have a proactive, can-do approach to innovation and problem solving and pride themselves on providing an environment where each child is responded to in an inclusive manner. Students are encouraged to reach their academic potential, grow their leadership capacity, and develop the skills to manage their own health and wellbeing. Educators have a high level of understanding and delivery of explicit teaching techniques in a professional environment where whole school pedagogies, practices and programs are used to maximise impact on student learning. Experience with and an understanding of High Impact Teaching Strategies, along with knowledge of Science of Reading, explicit synthetics phonics and The Writing Revolution will be highly regarded.
