We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

At Baynton West Primary School (PS), we believe that Children are at the heart of our school. We build strong and sustainable relationships with each child, their parents, and the wider community. As Deputy Principal, you will build collaborative and professional relationships with each member of the Early childhood team. Students know that they are valued and cared by school staff and flourish, in a stimulating environment.

Students are encouraged to achieve highly and approach learning in the ‘Baynton West Way’.

We are leaders in explicit instruction, with a strong culture of collaboration which is authentic and practiced every day, with common year level DOTT (Duties other than Teaching) and classroom observations and coaching embedded – the environment is one of trust and open communication.

The Role

We are seeking applicants who are confident and excellent Leaders and interested in pursuing a Deputy Principal position in a high functioning school. Part of this role will involve a commitment to plan and engage in leading our large Early Childhood phase of learning, including project management of our Waja Guma 0-4 Early Learning program. The successful applicant will also ideally provide a high level of support and participation in team planning for Early Childhood and curriculum policy and programs and collaborate with members of the school community in building a team environment that supports student learning and wellbeing. Strong knowledge of the National Quality Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework is essential.

Supported by a knowledgeable and dedicated Executive Team, the Deputy Principal role has a very clear focus on developing a highly skilled and excellent workforce in our school. It is a calm and nurturing place to work and grow as a professional leader. Your leadership in further developing our ‘Playfully Explicit’ approach will support Baynton West PS further develop our ECE students to be their best.
