We are seeking to establish a pool of Teachers - K-6 for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

East Kenwick Primary School has been part of the Kenwick community for over 35 years. The school has a steady enrolment of around 400 students drawn from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds. We have approximately 15% Indigenous enrolment and 48% English as a Second Language we celebrate our cultural diversity and the experiences that each family brings to our school. We have a long running community agreement with our Indigenous families, and during this business plan cycle, we will develop a whole community agreement that is respective and inclusive of our diverse community.

Our young leaders accept strong academic and personal challenges and learn with pride. We have a Positive Behaviour Support approach which has four underpinning guidelines: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Caring and Be Your Best.

Suitable applicants will ideally be passionate, motivated, and skilled educators who are committed to improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every child, every day, through our whole school approaches, explicit teaching and instructional strategies.

It is highly desirable that applicants are committed to developing positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider community. Applicants should possess a strong capacity to plan challenging and engaging programs using an excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum. We encourage restorative teaching practices to support positive behaviour expectations across the whole school.

We are seeking applicants who are innovative and employ best practice in the classroom. Applicants should have a good understanding of the Teaching for Impact documents and have a strong background in the delivery of learning through explicit teaching strategies. Applicants will need to be highly collaborative and be able to demonstrate the ability to work closely in a team environment to support the development of whole school teaching practice.
