The Role
The Program Coordinator - The Arts should use their exceptional interpersonal skills to lead a vibrant team of teachers to develop curriculum and instruction across The Arts learning area. Ideally, as an enthusiastic, dedicated and knowledgeable classroom practitioner, the successful applicant should inspire staff and students through fostering excellence in teaching, learning and student wellbeing.
The Program Coordinator - The Arts will work closely with staff and students to develop highly effective teaching and learning practices within The Arts learning area – in both the visual and performing arts contexts. As a curriculum leader, the successful applicant should provide professional leadership to a team of teachers and motivate them to provide an environment where all students can achieve to their highest potential. The successful applicant should continually drive student achievement by providing strategic, inspiring, and supportive leadership that is proactive and conducive to growth; and contribute to a culture of professional discourse and collaboration around excellence in teaching and learning.
We are seeking an experienced leader with considerable knowledge of the WA Curriculum from Year 7 to Year 10, as well as Senior School Pathways. The ability to deliver a Certificate course would be desirable. The Program Coordinator will sustain success through the consistent implementation of the College’s Instructional Framework. By providing direction and purpose to staff, the successful applicant will ideally build team capacity and foster a cohesive environment underpinned by positive learning experiences and explicit instruction. In The Arts, the successful applicant should bring a forward-thinking approach to both curriculum development and instructional practice; providing high-level support to teaching staff through coaching, classroom observations and provision of feedback.
The successful applicant will join a dedicated and experienced College Leadership Team (CLT) at Hammond Park Secondary College. The CLT fosters a culture that is underpinned by wellbeing, excellence and relationships. The College invests heavily in leadership development, excellence in teaching and learning, wellbeing, and community engagement. Effective communication, organisation and interpersonal skills are important for all staff as the college has a focus building positive partnerships with the wider College community.
Our College operates under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative and as such is uniquely positioned to provide modern, state of the art facilities that maximise our ability to create an environment where all can flourish. Specialist facilities include a lecture theatre, performing and visual art centres, science laboratories, food kitchens and design/technology workshops. Learning areas are well resourced, and each staff member is provided with a device to embrace engaging curriculum delivery. The College will continue to experience rapid growth over the next five years, with ongoing developments and housing estates opening in the local area. In 2025, the school will serve students across Years 7 to 12 for the first time.
