We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants – Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Banksia Grove Primary School (PS) has strong relationships with its families and the wider community and is striving to improve across all aspects of our school. Banksia Grove PS has a wide range of students with imputed and diagnosed special needs from Kindergarten to Year 6. We are seeking to employ dedicated staff who can help our school, and in particular, our more vulnerable students.
Our school is a Positive Behaviour School. We are committed to employing trauma informed practices and approach each student and circumstance through this lens. Staff support students with co-regulation and self-regulation using Zones of Regulation and restorative approaches. Suitable applicants will ideally have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with teachers to create and maintain a supportive and inclusive education programme and meet the specific needs of students.

- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
