The Role
The School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) offers a range of lower secondary and senior secondary Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) courses. We are seeking an enthusiastic, suitably qualified, and experienced teacher of Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) Politics and Law to join our Humanities and Social Sciences team. The successful applicant will also teach lower secondary students in HASS, therefore strong knowledge of, and demonstrated success in, teaching the lower secondary HASS curriculum at all year levels is essential. The proven capacity to successfully teach ATAR Modern History or ATAR Economics will also be highly regarded.
As a teacher at SIDE, you will create engaging and culturally responsive materials to cater for student diversity, including students with English as an additional language/dialect, and students at educational risk.
The successful applicant will be skilled in the use of diagnostic and student performance data to inform teaching and learning programs, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be committed to working as part of a dynamic and collaborative team. Having a positive attitude with the ability to anticipate and adapt to change, and showing initiative, flexibility, and creative problem solving to produce the best opportunities for students will be highly regarded.

SIDE has a main campus in Leederville and teaching facilities at Canning College, Clarkson Community High School and Northlake Senior Campus. Teachers based in the metropolitan area may be required to work at any one of these or future venues.
