This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency.

Woodlands Primary School (PS) is a well-established K-6 school built on a strong foundation of shared values and a commitment to developing the whole child. The school has a contemporary, evidence-based approach to teaching which delivers effective learning experiences for students. Staff work collaboratively in Phase of Learning Teams to ensure consistency in whole school approaches that are differentiated to meet the needs of every student.

The school provides a balance of rigorous, explicit teaching and learning programs together with opportunities for play-based and inquiry learning approaches. Specialist programs include Science, Music, Art, Japanese and Physical Education. Students participate in a range of school, interschool and community-based events in sport, instrumental music, and choir.

Our embedded Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) program cultivates the development of the four school values of Belonging, Respect, Humanity and Possibilities in our students. The Role

Woodlands PS is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, upper-primary focused Deputy Principal to lead a challenging portfolio which includes delivery of curriculum through whole school approaches, staff development, student services and innovative programs.

As an integral part of the school leadership team, the Deputy Principal will possess the personal attributes to foster the established school culture of genuine care, respect, and support for colleagues, which is the foundation for the important work we do together every day to create optimal learning conditions for our students to flourish.

The successful applicant will possess the ability to lead change, improve teaching practice by modelling effective teaching strategies, coach colleagues to enhance their skills, and coordinate student services by engaging with parents, staff, external agencies, and stakeholders to support a range of complex student needs. The ability to remain flexible, effectively prioritise competing demands, and manage multiple tasks while being resilient and compassionate, are desirable attributes.
