This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025
Mingenew Primary School (PS) are seeking to employ a permanent Primary Teacher to teach in a Year 3-4 class commencing in Term 1 of 2025.
Nestled in the heart of the Midwest, Mingenew PS is an important and cherished part of the local community. We currently have an enrolment of 78 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Surrounded by established and productive farmland with the beautiful seaside town of Dongara only 30 minutes’ drive and the bustling regional city of Geraldton an hour away, Mingenew is a safe and vibrant community. GROH housing is available in Mingenew and the local township has a small supermarket, bakery, hotel, childcare, playgroup, polocrosse club, pony club, bowls club, tennis club and a sporting complex. In terms of employment for partners or family members there are several mining projects in the area, other schools within driving distance, health related employment, farming business and seasonal work. Local winter sports are popular and include football, hockey, and netball. On weekends and breaks there is an abundance of beautiful beaches a short drive away, camping spots and in Spring the wildflower season sees the region become a destination for families to explore the area. With Perth an easy 4 hour drive or 55 minute flight from Geraldton, Mingenew is the place perfect for people wanting a safe and accessible place to live and work.
Our students are supported by engaged families who are actively involved in their child’s education and work in partnership with staff. Our small team includes a range of experience and strengths that fosters professional collaboration and growth. At Mingenew we are very proud of our students and our community, and we have high expectations of ourselves and each other.

The Role
Mingenew PS students consistently achieve excellent results in both school and system wide assessments. We are seeking a teacher who will ideally be prepared to work with us to maintain our success and understand the importance of following whole school plans, will set high expectations for themselves and their students, and work collaboratively with their colleagues and families to ensure that every student can make progress.
At Mingenew PS we use an internal instructional coach and regular collaboration time to support educators to use high quality instructional strategies and teach explicitly. We aim for high fidelity and low variance in the implementation of whole school programs in Literacy and Numeracy. You should ideally be confident in the application of explicit instruction, including the use of daily reviews and open to completing professional learning to enhance your skills as an educator. Experience implementing Sounds Write or a similar phonics program is desirable. You should utilise effective behaviour management strategies to establish and maintain an organised, orderly, and learning-focused classroom and model positive and professional communication and behaviour.
Due to the size of our school all our classrooms are multi-age and in 2025 the profile will consist of a Kindy-Pre-Primary, Year 1-2, Year 3-4, and Year 5-6 class. All classes receive some support from Education Assistants throughout the week. We have limited access to specialist teachers so whilst DOTT providers will deliver some of the specialist subject areas there is an expectation that classroom teachers will also be responsible for some of these subjects such as Humanities and Social Sciences, Health, and Technology, however applicants may also have a particular interest or skills in other subject areas including The Arts and Science.
