This is a three (3) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 4, 2024 with possible extension.

The location and community
Djugerari Remote Community School is a small school located in the Fitzroy Valley in WA. The surrounding topography is breath-taking, the silence addictive.
There are 16 houses in Djugerari Community, and everyone is required to travel to Fitzroy Crossing to access a range of facilities and services. We are a friendly collaborative community, characterised by openness and a willingness to include new members.

The Role
Ideally, you are an experienced student-centred practitioner who builds positive relationships. Building a sense of being, belonging and becoming are essential to our context. You should ideally have a passion and dedication for learning and teaching.
The successful applicant will ideally need to be an enthusiastic, driven team player, who participates in school planning and curriculum development, contributing to our culture of sharing and collegiate support.
The successful applicant will have strong Literacy and Numeracy curriculum knowledge and skills, and a commitment to improving student achievement through the effective use of whole-school individualised approaches, early intervention, and the integrated use of ICT.
A sound understanding of the cultural context of Djugerari Community on Ngurrara Country would be an advantage, but a commitment to the Aboriginal Cultural Standards is essential.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Djugerari Remote Community School in 2024 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $5,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
