About the position

This important and strategic position provides media and communications advice and supports AGWA's Director of Marketing and Commercial Development with the development and implementation of successful public relations initiatives and strategies that are aimed at achieving and optimising the Galleries objectives.

The Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) is the State’s premier Art Museum. Situated in the heart of Perth’s Cultural Centre, AGWA holds the State Art Collection of over 18,700 works by renowned local and international artists from the 1800’s to today, including approximately 3,000 Aboriginal works.  AGWA is enjoying record visitation and income raising and is seeking an experienced professional to keep building this momentum for us.

Location

This position is located in central Perth within the Cultural Centre hub close to the bustling café, tourist and shopping districts.

Conditions

This is a part time, fixed term vacancy, for a period of 24 months, with a possibility of extension and/or permanency.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the Culture and Arts Portfolio and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process.

Future vacancies may be considered - fixed term, part time and full time.
