This is a three (3) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 4, 2024 with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency

Quairading District High School (DHS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Health and Physical Education teacher to run our K-10 program.

For more than 100 years, Quairading DHS has provided an exceptional education to students from the surrounding community. We have a strong reputation for inclusivity and environmental awareness; are strongly connected to the community and together we inspire success.

Our school is located 167km from Perth and currently caters for approximately 150 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The school provides a facility for Year 11 and 12 students to study through the School of Isolated and Distance Education. Five school buses service our families who live out of town.

The Role

The successful applicant will ideally be a passionate, motivated, and skilled educator who is committed to improving the physical, social, and emotional wellbeing for every child, every day, through curriculum delivery, whole school programs, and extracurricular activities.

We are seeking applicants who possess high quality teaching skills and knowledge. They will ideally be committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and be a collegial, effective collaborator.

It is highly desirable that the successful applicant is committed to developing positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider community. They should possess a strong capacity to plan differentiated and engaging programs using an excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.

Additional responsibilities will include a time allocation to coordinate:

  • school carnivals (with assistance from current staff)
  • lunch time sporting activities
  • whole school student health and wellbeing program (in conjunction with classroom teachers)

Flexibility exists to offer full-time or 0.8FTE over four (4) days for a suitable candidate.
