Dumbleyung Primary School is a small, community-oriented school with 45 students from K-6. Students and staff are well-known to each other and feel a sense of belonging and pride in their school.

As a small school, we take advantage of opportunities not available to bigger schools and our students enjoy a range of experiences that enhance their primary education. Our small staff support each other to achieve great things for our students and all contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture.

Find out more about our school by visiting www.dumbleyungps.wa.edu.au or Schools Online.

The Role

The successful applicant will ideally have an understanding in the assess-plan-teach model and experience in using Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI) and Engagement Norms. Dumbleyung Primary School has a Whole School Instructional Model and participates in regular cycles of peer observations and feedback. Familiarity with Talk 4 Writing, Seven Steps for Successful Writing, or The Writing Revolution is beneficial along with Information Computer Technology (ICT) strength. We have established processes and structures in place for our Literacy Block, ensuring the Big 6 of Scarborough’s Reading Rope are taught explicitly. We also have whole school programs in place for Numeracy, and use the PR1ME Numeracy Program that uses worked examples for explicit teaching of mathematical concepts.

The successful applicant will be a motivated and reflective teacher who seeks new opportunities and is focused on their professional growth. We have an Instructional Coach who will provide valuable feedback on your pedagogy and there is the expectation that we all continually refine and work on our curriculum delivery for greater impact on student learning. You will need high levels of interpersonal skills to work within a driven team that holds all members to account.
