Financial Services are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2024 and 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements up to the end of December, 2025.

The Role and our Branch
The Finance and Commercial Services Division is seeking to recruit highly motivated and committed Finance Consultants School Support in the Financial Services branch.
The Finance Consultant School Support will provide support and advice to school end users regarding school finance and accounting operations. You will also be involved in implementing conversions, data analysis, data migration, assessment of financial management in schools, development and application of school accounting procedures and processes and revision of the school chart of accounts. The successful applicant will provide information and problem-solving support to clients with processing transactions in school finance systems that is within the Department’s financial framework to ensure legislative compliance and accountability.
Suitable applicants will analyse financial information and issues and provide resolutions whilst assisting with the development, implementation and review of programs, processes, procedures and guidelines, including services on Ikon (the Department’s Intranet) to support clients. You will identify issues arising from policy changes, financial and taxation reforms and the introduction of new technology or systems whilst monitoring reviews and verifying monthly and biannual school financial data.
The branch also has responsibility for providing school financial systems and management training programs for school staff.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- hold a current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence;
- travel to schools and Regions;
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
