Piara Waters Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an inspirational and committed Program Coordinator to join their foundation leadership team.
As the Program Coordinator, you will be a key member of the school’s foundation leadership team. In collaboration with the Principal and members of the leadership team, you will provide educational leadership within the school and the community, by developing and promoting the school’s vision and values. The leadership team will evolve and develop as the school grows each year. This is an exciting opportunity to support a growing foundation school in a role that focuses on school operations, student wellbeing and quality teaching across the school, as we work towards realising our school’s vision of 21st century learning and a successful pathway for every student.

The successful applicant should be a strategic leader who is able to manage complex situations, provide support and direction to teachers and students and effectively manage resources. We are seeking applicants who ideally have the capacity to utilise their professional knowledge and skills in the context of a foundation school. A leader who should be flexible and adaptable with the capacity to develop and grow professionally, whilst leading within a changing and developing context. This role will include a teaching component.
Piara Waters SHS is situated in the beautifully landscaped suburb of Piara Waters, approximately 25kms south of Perth. The school is surrounded by luscious greenery and will form part of the vibrant, multicultural community of Piara Waters. The school commenced with Year 7 students in 2023, and will add each year to its growing cohort, until it reaches Year 12 in 2028.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs);
- Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
