- 1 x Twenty-nine (29) month fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP
- 1 x Nine (9) month fixed term, full-time position, with possible extension commencing in October 2024.

The Role and our Branch
Statewide Services provides the services and supports required by schools to enable student achievement, with a focus on those students and schools that need it most. It encompasses both school and system-facing service delivery. While it primarily exists to support schools, it also has an important system-facing role supporting strategy and policy development.
Service Delivery is the key interface with schools. Its purpose is to plan, coordinate and deliver targeted services that support schools and regions to improve student achievement. The Service Planning and Contracts branch is responsible for the commissioning, contract management and implementation of specific state and national strategic education programs delivered by third party providers. Current programs include the School Breakfast Program, Follow the Dream, the Chaplaincy and Student Wellbeing Officer program, Clontarf Academies, and engagement program for Aboriginal girls and young women.
The branch also collects and collates data and information for corporate reporting and to support evidence-based decision making within Statewide Services’ Multi-Tiered System of Support model.

As the Principal Consultant, you will lead and manage strategic contracts and procurements which support State and Australian Government education initiatives. The role will work in a culturally responsive manner to respectfully engage stakeholders ensuring service delivery to schools and the system. This fixed term role will specifically focus on undertaking a number of commissioning processes.
The successful applicants will have well developed written communication and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of, and experience in delivering, the elements of a commissioning process is desirable, as is knowledge of the Delivering Community Services in Partnership Policy.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check if required.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
