Are you a talented, team-focused and professional Languages teacher looking for a rewarding career to teach in one of Western Australia’s top performing public schools?
Willetton Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of French Language Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2025.
With high expectations and a strong commitment to excellence, of yourself as a professional and of your students, suitable applicants should display a willingness and ability to effectively teach students of all levels from Years 7 to 12 Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR). Suitable candidates will ideally be relationship-focused, with strong interpersonal skills, and have the ability to work collaboratively within a large team. With over 20 staff members in the Languages department at Willetton, supporting team goals is a crucial aspect of this role.
Using flexible and differentiated teaching strategies, the Languages team at Willetton employ inclusive practices to motivate all students, including those in the Gifted and Talented and Academic Extension programs, those for whom English is an Additional Language, Learning Support students as well as Students at Educational Risk.
Detailed knowledge of the WA Curriculum: Languages, as well as Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) French courses is also desirable. All Languages teachers have a role in leading curriculum planning in the learning area, as well as promoting language learning across our school community.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
