Willetton Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Science for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2025 school year.
Suitable applicants will ideally possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning experiences to students. You should use self-reflection to assess the effectiveness of your professional practice and be able to establish and maintain a safe and effective learning environment. You will ideally possess knowledge, understanding and expertise in the context of the science curriculum and pedagogy.
As a highly effective educator you should possess an excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements in Lower School and the current Senior School courses. This knowledge combined with pedagogical skills enables the development of programs differentiated for the specific learning needs of all students across the full range of abilities.
Willetton SHS is one of the largest schools in Western Australia, with a student population in excess of 2700, approximately 230 teaching staff and 145 support staff on campus. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
