The Role and our Branch

Schools is seeking to appoint a highly dedicated and enthusiastic Manager.

The successful applicant will provide high level support to the Deputy Director General, Schools, and manage projects with system-wide application to support the group’s strategic direction. This role will entail leading the development and delivery of a portfolio of projects, identifying interdependencies between divisions and leveraging resources to maximise efficiencies and achieve organisational outcomes.

The successful applicant will manage and develop strong stakeholder relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including education regions, other Central Services divisions and directorates, unions, professional associations and the Minister’s Office, through effective communication, negotiation and consultation to ensure stakeholder engagement and participation.

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
