This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2024 

Ellenbrook Secondary College (SC) are seeking an enthusiastic Marketing and Communications Officer to join their friendly team.

The successful applicant will provide operational support in the development, implementation and management of the College’s Marketing Plan, coordinate promotional events and marketing activities and liaise with key stakeholders to organise promotional events and marketing.

The Marketing and Communications officer will be responsible for maintaining and updating the College’s website, software applications and social media platforms to ensure published content is current, relevant and that associated links are active.

The successful applicant should undertake proactive investigation and identification of funding support from local, state and national sponsorship opportunities and assists in the preparation of funding and grant submissions. In addition, the successful candidate will assist with proof reading, copy writing, editing and information collection for production of the college’s communications.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

  • Experience in coordinating events and marketing activities and associated financial management and budgeting requirements.  
  • Knowledge of content management systems and ability to manage and maintain information systems including websites and databases.  
  • Initiative and sound organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Sound written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Sound research, conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to think clearly and solve problems autonomously.

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
