Endeavour Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated Education Assistants for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements up to the end of Term 3, 2025.

As an Education Assistant you will assist in the delivery of planned education programs that will help in the development of young minds. In this role you will collaborate and work in a team environment.

Suitable applicants will ideally have highly developed interpersonal skills and possess good written and oral communication skills enabling implementation of individual or small group programs, and the ability to support general health and well-being of students. You should be able to work unsupervised with students on a need basis.

You will ideally be organised and use your initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment. To be suitable in this role, you should be able to work with students of all ages, regardless of individual abilities and needs. You will support teachers to deliver programs and Individual Education Programs whilst also providing assessment feedback and showing initiative to provide learning opportunities that develop or complement a student’s Individual Education Program.

As an Education Assistant you would also provide support to ensure the learning environment is inclusive and relevant with the health and safety of students being a high priority.

Suitable applicants will ideally have the ability to manage student behaviour in accordance with school policies and programs. Experience with the WA Positive Behaviour Support program will be considered an advantage.

Endeavour PS is located in the suburb of Port Kennedy, approximately 10km south of Rockingham. Working in partnership with the Endeavour Education Support Centre, we have formed Endeavour Schools to provide a truly inclusive setting for the benefit of all students from Kindergarten through to Year 6. We take pride in our inclusive practices across all year levels and our ability to provide diverse learning opportunities for students and staff.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

  • Sound organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective educational programs to students.
  • Ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
