Lakelands Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Primary for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.

We are seeking teachers who ideally have outstanding interpersonal skills with a natural ability to communicate effectively and build genuine relationships with parents, students and staff members. Suitable applicants should quickly establish a positive and welcoming classroom environment with high expectations, and a growth mindset, while building students’ positive social and emotional skills.

Suitable applicants will ideally be outstanding classroom practitioners who can enhance current school practices. They will display an ability and passion to work in an environment that has a major focus on high expectations and improving student outcomes.  They should be committed to making a difference in the lives of our students, be highly skilled and motivated educators with a passion for teaching and have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum.

We are an Independent Public School located in the rapidly growing suburb of Lakelands, north of Mandurah. We cater for students in Kindergarten through to Year Six and have an outstanding team of educators who share a commitment to work hand-in-hand with the community to provide a quality education for students.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
