Narrogin Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint an energetic and motivated English teacher who is committed to achieving outstanding educational outcomes for all students to join our high-quality regional school.
About the role

- Engage in reflective practice, informed by classroom observations, student feedback surveys and close examination of student performance data
- Capacity to plan curriculum including scope, sequencing and lesson design collaboratively
- Strong teaching and classroom management skills incorporating Classroom Management Strategies (CMS)
- Data analysis skills and evidence based planning to improve student outcomes.
- Innovative use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in the classroom
The successful applicant will ideally display a commitment to delivering highly engaging lessons across science and mathematics strands.
Please note we will support participation in the LEAP program for applicants who have an interest in the learning area.

Narrogin SHS is a genuine comprehensive educational institution. The location and community
Narrogin SHS is situated in the heart of Western Australia's rich agricultural area and with over 600 students we are the largest Senior High School in the region, with three local feeder primary schools and TAFE that work closely with the school. Narrogin is a major service and educational centre approximately two hours’ drive (193 km) from Perth and has the convenience of a country town with the benefits of a regional city. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
