About the division

The Sport and Recreation division within DLGSC contributes to the vision of enabling a strong sector that is safe, encourages participation, develops talent and contributes to a healthy, active and socially connected Western Australia.   

About the role

This is your opportunity to positively impact the development of Sport and Recreation in regional WA. We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Regional Officer Gascoyne.

We have one permanent, full time (75hrs p/f) position available in our Carnarvon office.    

As Regional Officer you will be assisting in the development and maintenance of partnerships with key stakeholders to deliver quality services and facilities throughout the Gascoyne. You will also aid in the management of the Gascoyne office, implementing strategies to promote physical activity in the community and support organisational development in sport and recreation, including:

  • Researching and reporting on planning issues.
  • Assisting in the development of operational plans.
  • Representing DLGSC by providing advise to local government, community groups, clubs, associations and the general community.

The ideal candidate will be able to work well autonomously and preferably have a demonstrated ability to connect and engage with communities in a culturally responsive way.
