Appointment Pool
Service Allocation Prioritisation and Coordination is seeking to establish a pool of Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time vacancies which may arise during 2024 and up to February 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2024, up to the end of February 2025.
About the position & what type of applicant we are trying to attract
Statewide Services is seeking to appoint a motivated and committed Teacher to join the Service Allocation Prioritisation and Coordination team within the Service Planning and Coordination Directorate.
The Service Planning and Coordination Directorate enables the delivery of an integrated service to support schools to improve student achievement and educational outcomes, accessing subject matter experts as required. It also coordinates the provision of system wide ancillary services and programs that complement and support student achievement.
Suitable applicant would work within a multidisciplinary team, consisting of a Program Coordinator, Social Workers, Teachers, School Psychologist Consultants and Aboriginal Youth Support Coordinators. This team provides support to referred students with complex needs, working with families, schools, Education Regional Office staff and Statewide Services branches.
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Teacher role is responsible for engaging with students and their families; liaison between home and school settings; supporting schools to develop supportive learning environments, including trauma-informed practice; collaborating with other Statewide Services branches and Education Regional Office staff; supporting student transitions between school settings; providing individual case coordination; and providing educational expertise to external support agencies and services. Teachers would also provide support to the Program Coordinator with team processes and development of materials and resources as required.
The role will be based out of Statewide Services at Padbury, will include making home visits and will travel across the state, which will include overnight stays and air travel. It is highly preferable that the successful applicant holds and maintains a current driver’s licence.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
