Appointment Pool
Craigie Heights Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 4, 2025.
Suitable applicants should ensure the planning, implementation and assessment of whole school evidenced based programs and explicit instruction pedagogy that drives our quality teaching agenda. Teachers at Craigie Heights PS engage in delivering evidence based pedagogy and assessment practices that support high progress and high achievement outcomes for our students. Strong knowledge and experience in delivering the Science of Reading, visible learning and high impact teaching strategies is considered favourable.
Applicants should possess the ability to work collaboratively in teams to meet the targets and milestones set out in the School Business Plan. A culture of collaboration and support ensures staff work together in phases of learning and curriculum teams to achieve our vision. Teachers with middle to upper primary experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Craigie Heights PS is an Independent Public School, located in the northern suburbs. There are 400 students enrolled from Kindergarten to Year 6. We are proud of our Positive Behaviour Support approach and Aboriginal Cultural Program that provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment. There is a focus on strong academic progress for each student and an emphasis on effective pastoral care for staff and students. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
