Are you ready to re-write your narrative?

Pinjarra Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative English teacher to join their collaborative and committed team.

We are seeking a teacher who excels in engaging and motivating students through creating a safe and inclusive learning environment. The successful applicant should display strong professional knowledge and a repertoire of effective instructional practices to challenge students and enrich learning experiences. The ability to differentiate the curriculum to support individual student progress is important, as is the capacity to form strong relationships with students, colleagues, parents/caregivers and the network of external stakeholders and partners who support the school.

Strong applicants will ideally show their capacity to use a range of data to inform planning and assessments, provide explicit feedback and monitor student performance.

As an English Teacher at Pinjarra SHS, you would join our dedicated, experienced team to develop, review and deliver the English curriculum. The successful applicant would have the opportunity to apply their expertise of the English Learning Area across Years 7 to 12, utilising their knowledge and teaching experience to encourage and support all our students to achieve outstanding results.

Since 1921, Pinjarra SHS has proudly served the community of Pinjarra and its surrounding region. The school provides a blend of traditional and innovative programs designed to prepare students from Year 7 – 12 for higher education, vocational training and employment. We are a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school that promotes Tolerance, Respect, Unity and Embracing Opportunities as our core values. Positive behaviour is modelled by staff and expected of all students.

Pinjarra SHS also has a strong focus on increasing student aspiration, participation and achievement through the development of enterprise skills such as problem-solving, communication, collaboration and entrepreneurship. These skills are embedded in our instructional model and form part of the overall strategy to develop confidence and capacity in our students during their secondary school years. Underpinning this is our ongoing commitment to develop Growth Mindsets in our staff and students through targeted Professional Learning and action research.

Knowledge or interest in these areas will be considered advantageous to applicants. Graduates are also encouraged to apply.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment.
