Comet Bay College is seeking a highly organised, motivated, energetic and handy Facilities Coordinator (Administration Support Coordinator – Facilities and Assets) to join our team!
In this role, you will oversee and coordinate daily operations relating to the maintenance of college grounds and amenities. The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the overall presentation of the college’s buildings/structures, providing a high standard of presentation and a safe and appealing environment for students, staff and visitors.
The Facilities Coordinator:
- identifies and attends to general maintenance requirements in a timely manner.
- liaises with and coordinates contractors and tradespersons undertaking work across the college.
- makes recommendations and coordinates the deployment of minor works and improvements to amenities in consultation with the Manager Corporate Services and the Principal.
- assists with the management of college Assets.
- directly undertakes minor repairs and maintenance tasks as capable and provides logistical support to staff with the setting up of school events.

Catering for students in Year 7 to Year 12. The college is situated in Secret Harbour a coastal community 64 kilometres from Perth and draws students from its partner primary schools located in the Golden Bay, Secret Harbour, and Singleton areas. Due to our popularity and rapid expansion of residential development around the college, the College is a local intake school.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work-related requirements (selection criteria):
- Sound ability to provide effective support and input into the development, implementation and monitoring of school buildings, grounds and facilities and the ability to investigate funding opportunities.
- Sound team management and supervisory skills, including the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Sound written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of individuals at all levels.
- Sound computer skills in a range of application software packages, including spreadsheets and word processing.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment.
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement.
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
