Appointment Pool
Gilmore College are seeking to establish a pool of Science Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.
Suitable applicants should be able to analyse learning areas and individual student data in Science to improve student achievement and subject knowledge relevant to supporting student learning. Experience working with Whole School Instructional Models, methods employed in Explicit Instruction and understanding whole-school Literacy and Numeracy is highly desirable. The capacity to teach Australian Admission Tertiary Rank (ATAR) courses and previous experience or qualifications in teaching Science will be highly regarded.
Suitable applicants will ideally have knowledge and experience in teaching senior school classes, particularly in Psychology, with the skills to work with Students at Education Risk (SAER) and extension classes. Suitable applicants should display explicit understanding of differentiated learning and be willing to contribute to the growth and development of the Science Learning Area. The ability to provide high-quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students and maintain effective relationships quickly with all stakeholders is advantageous.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate, develop and promote the school's values, ethos and priorities across the school community is desirable. Ideally, suitable applicant will build positive relationships with students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students while working with and supporting others in a close-knit team of teachers.
Gilmore College is an Independent public school that opened in 2008, continuing 52 previous years of secondary education provided by Kwinana Senior High School. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
