Appointment Pool
Lake Grace District High School (DHS) are seeking to establish a pool of dynamic and enthusiastic Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.

This role will suit someone who is relationship-focused, highly motivated, and passionate about creating exciting, culturally responsive learning experiences to ignite a desire to learn in students.
The Ideal Teacher
Suitable applicants will ideally be conscientious and dedicated Primary Teachers with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. You should be highly reflective about your teaching practice and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation. Suitable applicants will ideally possess a proven knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and experience in delivering positive outcomes for students – whether on practicum or from past teaching experiences.
Suitable applicants will ideally have the professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant curriculum using a positive, student-focused approach, and have proven success working with students across a range of ability levels, including multi-age/split year groups. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents, and external networks to establish strong community partnerships, are highly desirable. Suitable applicants will ideally be relationship focused implementing school wellbeing programs and supporting the school’s wellbeing focus within your classroom. You should be enthusiastic, seeking opportunities for feedback and support from your peers, and have the proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
As a member of our school teaching team, suitable applicants will be expected to implement effective and engaging learning programs that align with the whole school approach. You will work collaboratively with other staff to develop and refine whole school approaches for curriculum delivery, contributing actively and positively to the collaborative learning teams. Experience and knowledge in Talk 4 Writing and use of Paul Swan and Diana Rigg resources is desirable but not essential.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
