Are you a passionate, creative and engaging Early Childhood Teacher?
Pemberton District High School (PDHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Early Childhood teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.
Suitable applicants will be dynamic and dedicated Early Childhood specialists with a displayed commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. We are seeking teachers who are highly reflective about their teaching practice, and committed to evidence-based decision making. A proven ability to provide a caring and supportive learning environment is essential.
Suitable applicants will have a sound understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS), as well as a proven knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum. Applicants should possess experience in utilising high impact teaching strategies within the classroom, with a strong focus on concrete learning and providing targeted intervention to maximise opportunities for growth. A capacity and willingness to lead the development and delivery of whole-school Literacy and Numeracy approaches such as PreLit, InitiaLit, Talk4Writing, iMaths and/or Top Ten Maths would also be highly regarded.
Suitable applicants will ideally need to display the professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant curriculum using a positive, student-focused approach, and have proven success working with students across a range of ability levels. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships, are also required. Suitable applicants will be relationship focused with a consistent and transparent classroom management approach. They will be enthusiastic, seek opportunities for innovation and leadership, and have the proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Suitable applicants will have a proven record of engaging in whole-school improvement activities. Applicants need to be willing to commit to developing shared practices that align with school priorities. As a member of the PDHS team, you will be supported to achieve your own professional goals, and to build the capacity of colleagues, regardless of your phase of teaching.
About the school
At PDHS we are driven by our firm belief in the capacity for all students to achieve success. We treat each student as an individual and tailor educational programs to celebrate their strengths and extend their potential. Our students are enthusiastic learners with inquisitive minds and caring natures. They are recognised across the community for their responsible and respectful approach, seeking out and successfully facing challenges with positivity and self-belief, truly embodying our school values of Choose Respect, Be Resilient and Challenge Yourself.
PDHS’s priorities focus on student progress, teaching quality, learning environments, and partnerships and relationships. While we provide all the academic opportunities and standards of a large school, it is our small size that so successfully promotes the development of well-rounded young people. As a Positive Behaviour Support school, our friendly and respectful culture is reflected within all classrooms, where eager and focused students are well supported by passionate and dedicated teachers. Behavioural issues are minimal, allowing students and teachers to focus on the core business of learning.
Educational success is measured by more than just academic results and we aim to meet the emotional, physical and social needs of all students. At PDHS we believe this is best achieved through positive partnerships between school and home. Teachers know each family individually and maintain clear and consistent communication within this vital relationship.
