South Bunbury Primary School (PS) is looking for a Primary – Science Teacher to join their school.
To be successful in this role you would ideally have excellent interpersonal skills and be capable of creating high quality, hands-on learning experiences in the classroom. You would ideally exhibit care and consideration for students, display effective behaviour management practices and show a willingness to seek constant improvement in your practice. Knowledge of the Science curriculum up to and including Year 6 and having the ability to differentiate for individual students, resulting in the provision of engaging learning experiences is highly desirable.
The successful applicant would ideally be an active contributor to the Science learning area and be reflective in their practice to support professional growth and improve educational outcomes for all students. Knowledge and the ability to use teaching, learning and assessment strategies, combined with the integration of technology to engage students is required. The applicant will utilise their knowledge of the Science learning area and strategic planning capability to create a seamless specialist science program throughout the school.
The successful applicant would ideally be motivated, energetic and possess the qualities to promote excellence, build effective teams and implement innovative curriculum. They will ideally possess excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to develop positive relationships within the school and community.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement.
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
