Rossmoyne Senior High School (SHS) is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic French Language Teacher to join our friendly team. Rossmoyne SHS is one of two Gifted and Talented (GT) Languages schools in Western Australia, offering an accelerated program for GT students.
The successful applicant should have high expectations, display a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment. They should be expert teachers of their language, as well as being flexible and adaptive teachers who can apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching.
An ability to teach French across all year levels from Years 7 – 12 is required. Candidates who have experience working with Gifted and Talented students, Students at Educational Risk and English as an Additional Language/Dialect students will be highly regarded, however Graduate teachers are also encouraged to apply.
The desired applicant will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. The successful applicant will ideally work collaboratively with their colleagues in the Languages Department and build positive relationships with their students. They should also be performance driven and use evidence based decision-making skills.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
