Pinjarra Senior High School (SHS) are seeking an enthusiastic and approachable Secondary Generalist to join our fun and collaborative team.

This is an exciting role and will encompass supporting staff in the classroom along with covering relief, as required. You will have the unique opportunity to work across the school in different classes as needed.
The successful applicant will ideally display the ability to provide purposeful and relevant learning experiences that cater for different student learning needs as outlined in the Australian Curriculum, employing research based high impact teaching strategies.
The successful applicant will ideally be able to teach across learning areas in a generalist capacity and have an ability to embed positive student behaviour strategies in their instructional practice.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
