We're seeking a skilled Physics teacher for our Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) program. Prior ATAR teaching experience is advantageous but not mandatory. We're committed to providing comprehensive training and support as needed. The ability to teach Chemistry would be beneficial but not essential. Your role may involve teaching potentially two ATAR science classes, offering you a unique chance to influence the academic growth and futures of a diverse student group. Your dedication and expertise will be key in helping students excel in the challenging field of science.
The ideal candidate should display flexibility, collaborative spirit, and a commitment to fostering strong relationships within the school community to ensure the best outcomes for all students. They should also bring professional expertise to deliver a Science Curriculum that's both engaging and tailored to student needs and interests, emphasising critical content through a fine-grained program. Experience in extending students through our Academic Extension program is a plus.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work across Year 7 to 12, according to college needs, and bring their expertise to the Science Learning Area, ideally applying their knowledge of the Science Courses and experience in teaching Senior School Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) Science to help our students achieve outstanding results.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
