North Perth Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated, passionate and highly motivated Music Teacher to join their team.
The successful applicant will ideally have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills which underpin professional and positive working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community. They should become an integral part of this community partnership to support each child to reach their potential.
As Music Specialist teacher at North Perth PS, you should work in a collaborative environment to improve student outcomes, reflect on your own performance, and contribute to staff development. You should be committed to continuous improvement, displayed by your willingness to accept, and implement change, and also in your ability to lead initiatives.
The successful applicant will ideally be a highly skilled and motivated educator who is passionate about teaching, with an excellent knowledge of how to plan, teach and assess the Western Australian Curriculum in Music for students in Year 1 to 6. North Perth PS is focused on embedding evidence-based practices for teaching and learning and therefore, it is desirable for applicants to be able to display their high-quality teaching skills and how they impact student achievement.
As Music Specialist, the successful applicant will ideally have experience leading and conducting a school choir and coordinating the instrumental music program on behalf of Instrumental Music School Services. They should promote and develop a visible presence of music within our school community, engaging in opportunities for performances and music assemblies. Experience in, or a willingness to, incorporate elements of drama into the Music program would also be advantageous.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
