Appointment Pool
We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.
About the position
Suitable applicants will ideally be highly motivated and energetic and willing to work with students from diverse backgrounds in a regional setting. You should possess the qualities to promote excellence, develop and maintain positive relationships with students and build a positive classroom environment for students to achieve success, whilst implementing the WA curriculum. You will ideally possess and utilise excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.
Teachers who can create positive learning environments that are engaging, challenging and that cater for the range of needs which will ensure positive student achievement will be highly regarded. The suitable applicants should use effective whole-school behaviour management strategies to establish and maintain an organised, orderly and learning-focused classroom.
About the school
Augusta Primary School is located in the beautiful seaside town of Augusta where the Indian and Southern Ocean meet, and the whales annually come to play. In this unique location we have a wealth of history and landmarks, featuring the Leeuwin Lighthouse; the tallest mainland lighthouse in the Southern Hemisphere. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
