Dianella Secondary College (SC) is seeking a highly professional, passionate and innovative Science teacher to join our team.
The successful applicant should be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, innovative, and able to work effectively in a team environment, as well as exhibit an engaging and energetic teaching style. Applicants who can adopt inclusive and restorative practices, and build positive relationships with students, staff, and the community, are encouraged to apply. The ability to establish and maintain effective communication with parents and caregivers is highly desirable.
The successful applicant should have a sound knowledge and understanding of the Year 7–12 Western Australian Science Curriculum. The successful applicant should be able to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school Science curriculum, and ideally be proficient at developing teaching strategies that meet the educational needs of students with a range of ability levels.
Dianella SC, situated in Perth's northern suburbs only 12km’s from the CBD, and is a rich and vibrant multi-cultural environment that has a long history of producing successful and committed community members.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
