Appointment Pool
Are you dedicated to nurturing creativity and helping students discover their unique artistic talent?
Piara Waters Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.
Suitable applicants will ideally be creative and innovative educators with a passion and appreciation for Performing Arts. The ideal applicant should be highly motivated to work in a collaborative team environment to provide students with a purposeful and engaging learning experience to develop their skills, knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Arts contexts.
The ideal applicants should exhibit a high level of collaborative practice to enable effective participation and engagement within the school. Suitable applicants will ideally establish strong, positive, and productive relationships with students, peers, and the wider school community. Teachers that possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, and display the ability to work collaboratively are highly regarded. As a new and developing school, the flexibility to teach in other areas is highly desirable.
Suitable applicants should have the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of students. Applicants should have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and ability to teach students of varying ability levels across Year 7 – 12 in a highly engaging manner. Strong knowledge and skills in the delivery of one or more Senior Secondary courses Australia Tertiary Admission Ranking (ATAR), General and Vocational is highly desirable.
As Piara Waters Senior High High School is in its foundation phase, teachers of Dance, Drama and Music will be considered for this pool.
Piara Waters SHS is situated in the beautifully landscaped suburb of Piara Waters, approximately 25kms south of Perth. The school is surrounded by luscious greenery and forms part of the vibrant, multicultural community of Piara Waters. The school commenced with Year 7 students in 2023, and will add each year to its growing cohort, until it reaches Year 12 in 2028.
Piara Waters SHS students are living in a rapidly changing world, and they need the skills to adapt and change with it. A diverse curriculum offering traditional and innovative programs of study, combined with innovative approaches to learning and teaching, will equip students to develop the skills they need to confront, adapt and thrive in a competitive and dynamic future world. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
