Esperance Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint highly motivated and dedicated Business Education - Teacher to join their friendly and dynamic team.
The successful applicant should be a motivated teacher, passionate about shaping students’ futures. They will ideally possess excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, ideally having knowledge of and experience in, a range of instructional strategies and tactics. As a reflective practitioner, the successful applicant should possess effective data literacy knowledge and skills; and a capacity to modify their practice to meet identified student needs. The capacity to engage in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, including integration of information technology into the curriculum, will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will ideally provide excellence in creating and maintaining a supportive and safe learning environment. You should provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. You should also recognise students as individuals and foster opportunities for all students to develop into effective young adults.
Successful applicants should ideally hold a TAE40116 or TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, with the ability to deliver Certificate II in Workplace Skills and Certificate III in Business. The ability to teach Humanities and Social Sciences would be highly regarded.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
